Light-blocking and flow imaging in one device: particle control in one run

Light-blocking and flow imaging in one device: particle control in one run
USP <787> and <788> for GMP-regulated biopharmaceutical processes
FlowCam LO combines Light Obscuration and flow imaging microscopy in one instrument for integrated particle control in biopharmaceuticals.
One launch simultaneously quantifies the light-blocking and imagery of each particle across more than 30 morphological and optical parameters, a combination of techniques that helps distinguish between protein aggregates, silicone oil, air bubbles and foreign particles, reducing sample size and the number of individual measurements.
The light-blocking module determines the particle size according to high-refractive index polystyrene standards, and the flow microscopy module does not depend on the difference in particle and solvent refractive indices and evaluates the shape and optical properties. The results of both methods are compared in VisualSpreadsheet. <787> and <788> and is designed for use in GMP-controlled processes.
