Microwave and VUV technology for large laboratories and industries
VOLAB VUV is a projected exhaust gas treatment system for large laboratories and manufacturing facilities, designed to handle complex mixtures of organic and odorous emissions without regularly replacing filter cartridges.
The system uses the combined action of microwave energy and high-energy VUV photons to break down the chemical bonds of the polluting molecules. According to the manufacturer, organic and odorous components are converted into water, carbon dioxide and nitrogen; the work is automated and does not require constant operator presence. It is integrated into the exhaust system as a terminal cleaning step.
For high-performance performance, the manufacturer specifies air consumption of 5,000–20,000 m3/h and power of 9–18 kW. The declared total cleaning efficiency reaches 95%, the expected service life during normal operation is 8–10 years. The actual performance and composition of the plant are calculated according to the flow rate, concentration and composition of the emissions of a particular facility.
