Droplet digital PCR with generation of up to 30,000 droplets per sample for absolute quantification
two devices – SG-2000 amplifier and DS-2000 biochip scanner – without external compressor
RainSure DropX-2000 is a two-modular drip digital PCR system for absolute quantitative analysis of nucleic acids and detection of rare genetic variants.
The platform combines automated sample preparation, drop generation and PCR amplification in the SG-2000 module with subsequent reading and analysis in the DS-2000 biochip scanner. The operator manually deposits a sample and transfers a closed chip between the two instruments; a separate pressure source and an external amplifier are not required. It separates positive and negative drops and calculates the concentration of nucleic acids according to the distribution of Poisson.
The integrated chip generates 20,000-30,000 uniform droplets in a closed system. The scanner uses four fluorescent channels — FAM, HEX/VIC, ROX and Cy5 — and supports multiplex analysis. The platform is compatible with probe and dye-binding detection methods, stores images of droplets for quality control and allows repeated re-analysis. The manufacturer specifies the applications: absolute quantification, analysis of copy number variations, rare mutations, small amounts of nucleic acids, mRNA/miRNA and control of standards for NGS.
