Pre-Vacuum-saturated TruPRAS and MediaMatcher Media Matching Tool for Anaerobes
Ready-to-use dense, liquid and transport media without contact with oxygen
Anaerobe Systems, part of Biolog, supplies pre-saturated TruPRAS environments and Anaerobic MediaMatcher panel for quick selection of the composition of the medium for a specific anaerobic strain.
TruPRAS environments are manufactured, bottled and packaged in an oxygen-free environment, so ready for use immediately after opening and do not require a separate recovery step before inoculation. The line covers dense, liquid and transport environments for the isolation, cultivation and storage of anaerobic samples. Anaerobic MediaMatcher, in its own press release, The queue is a screening panel: the isolate is sown in an anaerobic chamber, incubated on the Odin platform and the optical density kinetics determine which of the 47 media provides the best growth, after which the selected medium can be ordered separately for culture scaling.
TruPRAS environments are stored at room temperature, shelf life is 3 to 9 months depending on the composition, accidental contact with air is allowed up to 30 minutes. The portfolio includes non-selective, selective and differential agar media (e.g. BRU, TSA-NAM, BHI, LKV, CCFA, BBE), liquid media, as well as mediums for collection and transportation. Anaerobic MediaMatcher is a 96-well panel with 47 media compositions in two repeats (42 synthetic Biolog formulations and 5 commercial media); incubation takes 24 hours on Odin with kinetic optical density measurement, and selected media are available for order in 500 ml vials.
