PM, MycoPM and MitoPlate series for metabolic and mitochondrial profiling
Biolog Phenotype MicroArrays turns a functional cell phenotype into a measurable dataset: thousands of conditions can be compared in parallel, revealing differences that are not visible from genomic data. The line covers microbial, fungal, cellular and mitochondrial tasks.
Pre-formed 96-well panels check the utilization of nutrient substrates, pH response, osmotic and ion stress, sensitivity to antimicrobial and other chemical compounds. Metabolic respiration is recorded by redox dye restoration, and growth by optical density; on the Odin platform, both signals The PM 1-25 series is designed for microbial profiling, MycoPM for comparative analysis of inhibitory compounds in yeast and fungi, MitoPlate for study of substrates and inhibitors of mitochondrial function.
Each standard panel contains up to 95 different small molecules. The microbial series includes PM 1-10 for metabolic pathways, pH, osmotic and ion effects, and PM 11-20 for chemical sensitivity of bacteria; PM 21-25 assess the chemical sensitivity of yeast. User panels can be completed from a library of more than 1,200 Odin captures OD 590 over time and can process up to 50 panels, or up to 4,800 conditions, simultaneously. Mammalian PM studies up to 1,400 phenotypes, and the combined microbial PM portfolio is almost 2,000. The exact composition, dye, and protocol depend on the series and biological object selected.
