Odin Automatic Identification and Phenotyping Platform

Product overview

Automatic identification and phenotyping of microbes: 8 to 50 microplates at a time

Two performances – compact Odin VIII and high-performance Odin L

Biolog Odin is an automated platform for microbial identification and functional phenotyping. Two configurations close different levels of flow: the compact Odin VIII works with 1-8 microplates at the same time, and the Odin L with 1-50 microplates.

The system combines incubation, microplate kinetic reading and data analysis into a single workflow. It is suitable for microbial identification, growth curves, cellular respiration assessment, metabolic profiling, microbial community analysis and Phenotype MicroArray. Odin Software maps metabolic profiles. with the Biolog database and maintains user bases for own strains.

Odin VIII can hold 1 to 8, Odin L can hold 1 to 50 microplates. Both systems support incubation at 22 to 45 °C and final or kinetic reading at intervals of 2 to 20 minutes. The optical circuit uses 490 or 590 nm to record redox paint and 740 nm to assess turbidity/growth. The platform works with microbial identification microplates. Phenotype MicroArray and community analysis solutions; the software environment is declared by the manufacturer to be compatible with the requirements of 21 CFR Part 11. The specific set of microplates and the validation package should be confirmed for the selected application.
