BGI ZTRON is a scalable infrastructure platform for secure storage and processing of genomic data alongside high-performance sequencing systems.
The solution combines computing, networking and storage resources, simplifies the transfer of large data sets and supports centralized management of NGS streams.
Configuration is determined by the amount of sequencing required, capacity, redundancy and analytical conveyors used, and options are available from local workstation to rack and data center executions.

- Storage volume is scaled to 1 Pb – enough to sequence ≥ 100,000 WGS samples (30×) per year
- Configuration from local workstation to rack and data center execution is possible
- The rack design is placed in the 22U cabinet (1200×600×1200 mm)
Data processing and management
- Three-level data analysis: FASTQ acquisition, alignment and call of options, third-party analysis applications
- The ZLIMS software system runs a full cycle – from biosample and laboratory production to bioinformatics and data management.
- ZLIMS can be expanded to ZLIMS Elite for larger sequencing centers
