Clinically significant antibiotic sensitivity within the work shift
Automatic uroscrination in ~3 hours and direct AST from hemocultures
ALFRED 60/AST is Alifax’s fully automated rapid bacteriology and phenotypic antibiotic sensitivity analyzer to produce clinically relevant results within the work shift.
The system automates the workflow from putting a sample into a specialized broth to incubation, optical reading, building a growth curve and transmitting results. With branded reagents, rapid bacterial culture, residual antimicrobial activity test, clinical sensitivity determination (AST) and screening are performed. The laser light scattering method detects the replication of living bacteria and reduces the effects of cellular and salt interference in the original matrix.
Capacity: 60 samples. The design includes a refrigerated zone of reagents / samples, an inoculation carousel and an independent optical reading zone. Incubation and continuous monitoring are performed automatically, the software manages the protocols and transmits the results. For rapid uroscrination, the manufacturer indicates the result in about 3 The data on direct AST from positive hemocultures published on the official website show a median time of about 5-6.3 hours; the actual time depends on the method and the microorganism.
